Joan Baez was born in Staten Island, New York. Her father was a physicist and her mother of Scottish and english Decent. She grew up in New York, California and when her father changed his location she attended BU(Boston University) and began to sing in Coffee Houses and Small Clubs. Bob Gibson invited her to song in a New Port Folk Festival when she was a hit in Vanguard Records sighned beaz and in 1960 her album was named Joan Baez came out.
